On many circular connectors there is often a series of alphanumerical references printed around the outer shell, for example “D38999/26FJ30SN”. From this information it is possible to determine the following: class, shell size, insert arrangement, contact type (pin or socket) and keying position.
Using this information we can derive the contact arrangement, and in turn the crimp tool(s) turret head or positioner, insertion and removal tool specific to your connector.
In addition it is also possible to determine a connector holding device to facilitate torque tightening of the back shell or connector accessory using strap wrenches or soft grip pliers and a torque tool, if a higher degree of accuracy is required.
Contact retention testers are also available to verify that the contact is properly secured by the connector working mechanism. The tips are colour coded for size identification, and tools available as a pre-set or as an adjustable device.
